1) Are there Sharks in the water!!!?
Yes, in the summer season we have lots of Angel sharks. They are HARMLESS bottom feeders, AND THEY DO NOT BITE!
2) I'm on holiday with my family, do I have to do the course over 4 full days?
No, we can work around your family, don't forget they are on holiday too. You can spread it over 1 or 2 weeks. It's entirely up to you. While you are diving, your family can relax on the beach, either Playa La Pinta, or Torviscas Playa both less than a minutes walk from the shop. There is a market on both Thursdays and Saturdays.
3) What's the water temperature? Do I need to bring a full or short suit?
The water temperature is between 26°C in the summer, and 18°C in the winter. Leave your dry suit at home. A full wet suit is good all year round, but we have plenty to hire if you should need one.
4) Is the boat manned at all times?
Yes, the boat is manned all the time to provide assistance entering and exiting the water, and provide surface support.
5) Do I need to be medically fit to dive?
Before all dives you are required to fill in and sign a self certified medical form. If you suffer from Asthma, heart disease, high blood pressure, Epilepsy or you have recently had an operation you should seek medical advise before diving. If any of the above are applicable, you must bring a doctors certificate as proof of health. Call or e-mail us if you are unsure and we can answer any questions you may have.
6) I'm disabled, can I go diving?
Yes, of course, but you will need to obtain approval from a licensed physician. If you are medically fit, there is no reason you can not go diving.
7) Can I complete my confined water skills and theory at home, and finish my open water with you in the warmer waters?
Yes, just bring your referral documents signed by your instructor at home.
8) What is the SCUBA diving like in Tenerife?
The SCUBA diving in Tenerife has good all year round temperatures with visibility ranging from 10 to 30m+. There is a wide range of sea life from Turtles, to Sting rays.
9) I'm on my own, can I still go diving?
Yes, all our dives are guided, so there will always be at least a qualified dive guide on each dive.
10 ) I've heard about Dolphins in Tenerife. Is it possible to dive with them?
No, Dolphins are protected by local maritime law, but you can visit them on many of the boat trips from Puerto Colon, only 5 minutes walk from the shop.
